May - the Month of Mary

May is the month dedicated to Mary, the patroness of our parish! We can call on her to pray for us, particularly in the prayer of the rosary. We call it a ‘rosary’ because it’s like giving her a bouquet of roses! Have you told her lately that you love her? Give her a rose today, that is the Hail Mary. Pray just one. On the next day, try giving her two Hail Marys. Try three Hail Marys the next day. Then, follow up with ten Hail Marys, that is one decade of the rosary. Keep giving that decade of roses to Mary each day, especially on Mother’s Day! It doesn’t take long - try it in the car on the way to work or with your kids when they are done with school. Then add more decades. By the end of May, you could be giving 53 roses to Mary everyday. And she’ll be grinning ear to ear.
